    1. They would be great in a place like Rome or Belize….or anyplace in the south of Europe. Just park it inside a tiny storage shed or have a tarp to throw over it when it rains!

    1. @Fify Kaqiqi Pain Golf carts usually have canopies, but this one has way more horsepower and speed, plus a radio and that kind of stuff.

    1. They missed an opportunity for a clever TV commercial/advertising campaign, using the intro scene to the TV series Get Smart, and deep faking the Smart car in place of the Sunbeam Tiger or Karmann Ghia (depending on which season of the series). It might have helped them sell more to baby boomers and old hippies.

    1. @Duchovny for real, LoL! They’d probably be able the sell a few…there is a niche market for that sort of thing, might as well clinch that market!

    2. @Duchovny To be honest, Brabus did that already with the Smart Roadster Brabus from 2004-2005. 0,7L engine displacement and 101hp. My Brother had one and despite the fact that they dont look all that good, they REALLY drive like a Kart. But yeah, something like that with a 160hp Engine would be so fun!

    1. Not quirky enough….heck, Doug still hasn’t even reviewed an early 2000’s “new” Beetle yet(I’m sure he’s just holding off until he has access to the ultra rare low production performance model that Germany never exported to the U.S.)

    1. The Smartcar being unsafe is a huge meme propagated by American manufacturers to get people to believe only large cars (as sold by them) are safe. The Smartcar had a revolutionary safety concept and got 5 stars in the Euro NCAP crash test. Of course taking off the roof and half of the door is questionable from a safety standpoint, but the regular Smartcar is a very safe car.

  1. If they weren’t so ridiculously overvalued, I’d totally look into getting one for myself! Also….I have all of $1,800 to my name and no credit (because I don’t ever borrow money from banks or loan services).

  2. The Smart car brand missed an opportunity for a clever TV commercial/advertising campaign, using the intro scene to the 1960s TV series Get Smart, and deep faking the Smart car in place of the Sunbeam Tiger or Karmann Ghia (depending on which season). It might have helped them sell more to baby boomers and old hippies…oh well, I don’t even have a degree in business or marketing, but I think I know how to sell a car.
