And the Speciale is hardly understood for being a diminishing violet. But with a 4.5-litre, naturally aspirated V8 at its heart, the magnificent wall of noise that emanates from the 458 GTE's exhaust pipes is ear-splittingly remarkable.

Chassis 2874 very first raced at with AF Corse exactly a years prior to this year's victorious Ferrari 499P Hypercar. That year Sam Bird put the vehicle on pole in the GTE AM category however beat all bar among the Pro cars at the same time. It was a remarkable lap.

In this episode we're not at the Circuit de la Sarthe but instead in Austria at the beautiful and undulating . Why? Well, Girardo & Co (which currently has the cars and truck for sale) was part of the exceptional Difficulty and GT Days occasion, which hosts a huge collection of Ferrari track automobiles – everything from a 355 Difficulty with a manual 'box to the latest 488 Obstacle Evo. It produces rather a sight in the pits.
