There are 1,000 Volvos driving around North Korea which they never ever paid for. To this day the Volvos are seen in news footage, documentaries and pictures of the deceptive nation and seem to have been kept in great condition. This stays a mystery to many individuals. In this episode of Xplained we explore how this happened and whether it will ever be fixed.

I stared watching supercar blonde and I absolutely love her videos especially this one of where she is talking about the impact of North Korea stealing Volvos in Sweden, it is quite interesting to listen to the backstory of how they have accomplished this is extremely fascinating
Cheers to Sweden, home of the Nobel Prize, for keeping the peace!โฎ Another great show, love the series!๐
If they “got away with it”, we wouldn’t know any of this๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
In the Hungarian exactly the same in that period , the government and political friends drove Volvo , normal people Trabant , Wolga and Ural motorbike , then you were lucky and have been waiting for a while !!
This documentary is on another level ๐๐๐๐๐๐
I’m genuinely *lost* and *confused* as f*ck, what *exactly* do you mean the cars are worth millions? Did you mean in the terms of all 1,000 Volvos that were stolen put together are worth millions, or each one is literally worth millions? If anyone in fact does know what he meant, by all means please comment lmao .
That time those 1000 cars were worth millons because they were new, today each of them is worth around 2000 usd,but the debt is getting bigger, from 131 million to 320 million usd
N. Korea bought the cars in the 70’s for appx $5 million. The debt of $320 million includes a lot of interest, late fees, and other collection fees. The value of the cars currently, assuming they are all accounted for, is about $2-$4 million. Each car is worth $2000-$10,000 currently, depending on condition. This would still fall far short of paying back what N. Korea owes to it’s creditors.๐โ
the inflamation and interest will make the debt higher so the sooner north korea pays it the better it is for them
Very informative I love ur videos love from India ๐ฎ๐ณ kerala ,thrissur
