  1. The only Zagato I know is an Aston Martin.
The only Stelvio I know is an Alfa Romeo.
The only AZ-1 I know is an Autozam.

Yep, this is gonna be a good one

    1. Tesla inc just registered for the trademark “The Greatest Car Ever.” Very, very interesting. Brilliant marketing move.

  2. It’s been a long time since Doug has had a car on this channel I haven’t heard about, but what the hell is this one? He never fails to surprise me and I love it.

  3. My utmost respect for the owner who liked the Stelvio so much they decided they needed one for each house.

    1. Respect or condolences? Lol
      🇹 🇷 🇺 🇲 🇵 ➖ 🇺 🇰 🇷 🇦 🇮 🇳 🇪 ➖ 🇲 🇹 🇬

    2. @kz1000ps lol a friend of mine had two, one driver and one for parts, that he drove in the winter in Northern Alberta. It was like a tank in the snow lol

  4. Doug I’m continually impressed with your ability to locate unique and unusual cars from different eras , you’re crushing it man keep it up!!!

    1. Most of them reach out to him now, it’s not like in 2016 when Doug was a nobody

Edit: don’t know if 2016 is correct

  5. The vents on the wheels are to release heat from braking more so than to allow air in. The grooves on the wheel outside of them I assume is so it doesn’t catch the air as much when spinning.

    1. If the duct was to introduce air into the wheels , the wheels are on the wrong side perhaps because the ram-air duct should have the narrow end lead into the flow of air so that as the air slows down it is compressed before entering the wheel. If the purpose of the hole is to expel air – does it need the ram-air shape to induce an airflow out from the brakes?

    2. @Jonathan Stedman They are on the correct side if you expect them to use that duct to draw air out of the brake area while the car is moving forward. Not sure how effective it is, but in theory, it should work.

    3. @Project Mertle It’s 35 years since I sat in aerodynamic lectures so memory is very stretched – but that ram duct shape was only for sucking in air, can’t remember seeing it used for air being expelled but it does have a certain logic that the shape works both ways.

    4. @Jonathan Stedman I honestly can’t say I know, I do know that on similarly full-coverage style wheels that is the purpose of any holes on the wheel is mostly to let them out as opposed to in, depending on if there is positive or negative offset. this appears to have 0+- offset almost

  6. I really like the design. Especially for it’s time. If the roofline was just 1-1.5 inches lower it would look a lot better though.

  7. I always hear that side mirrors really hurt a car’s aerodynamics. I wonder if mounting the mirrors this way actually improves on that.

    1. @Pex_the_Unalive Drunk awesome. Now we just need the other car this guy has so we can put a normal hood and normal mirrors on that one to compare the two. Haha

    2. @Craig Campbell i hope you realize I was referring to the anime series, LoL! I’m also probably drunk rn

  8. Doug, these kind of videos is why you’re still my favorite automotive Youtuber. Absolutely wholesome quirkiness!!!

  9. Doug, thanks for doing these oddball cars! I know they don’t get you the clicks you want, but these videos are great.

  10. It looks like a concept car. I love it.

And I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the Autech Stelvio Zagato AZ1 is a more period correct 80’s car then the Ferrari Testarossa, the Lamborghini Countach and even the Vector W8. It is definitely the absolute most 80’s looking car of all time! Peak 1980s!

  11. It would be neat to see a driver’s view from this car. That was one of the coolest things about the C3 corvettes, the two huge humps that the hood was in between.

  12. I like the styling. The hood-mounted mirrors actually make some sense in that you don’t need to change your focus much to use them. The thing that irks me, especially on a ~$300K car, is the exposed screw heads on the fake vents. At least they could have made them black so as not to be so unsightly. But maybe they had black paint on them and it flaked off over the years.

  13. Love it when Doug reviews weird rare cars. His energy and excitement in these reviews are unlike anything else

  14. Doug you’re truly a hero in automotive journalism. My god you will never run out of weird cars to review and it makes me relieved

    1. Glad some viewer offered him this one. It depends on what his fans, followers, dealerships and manufacturers are willing to borrow him. It’s not him who approaches them.

  15. Excited to see another car that we imported reviewed by Doug! And we can absolutely attest, Myron is a great guy with one of the most awesomely odd collections of cars out there.

  16. The wheel ducts are facing the wrong way to bring air inside the wheel to the brakes. If all four wheels are identical, then the other side wheels would possibly do that, in theory. Another possibility is that there are right and left side wheels, and this car has them swapped. Good review!

    1. Yeah, I figured they were on backwards. I don’t think a naca duct works backwards, aka I don’t think it would pull air out. The reason you use a naca is to pull air into the hole without affecting the laminar flow across the surrounding body work. 🤷

    2. Actually there are left and right models, and I don’t know if they intended to push air or to pull air, but the BMW M-system “turbine” wheel were also working on pulling air (sucking out of the brake) and not on pushing air.

  17. Arguably this one of the best automobile. Am craving ❤️for this alot but am not earning that much from my job so I can’t afford this at the moment,,I wish to get one for myself and my family soon..

    1. Such information we don’t it get from most Youtubers, I am getting in touch with her right a

    2. So pleased seeing my broker talked about on YouTube, This was exactly how i got recommendation about Mr .E Thompson., At first i was a bit skeptical but eventually i gave him a trail with my little investment i got huge profit. He’s obviously the best when it comes to crypto trading.
