  1. Doug the kind of guy who steals kids’ T-shirts from random washing lines he sees out and about.

  2. Slight correction…. when the durango came out in 1998 it had either a 5.2 V8 or the 5.9 V8. The 4.7 wasn’t available until 2000. Also kind of funny is in 1999 ONLY they offered a 3.9 V6 but only on 2wd models.

    1. @@Ethan_Alexandur you are absolutely right. Nobody cares about internet trolls like yourself. 🤣

  3. My Granny misses her Durango, It had the 5.9 magnum, Even though it wasn’t a Shelby, It was still very fun to drive

    1. Same with my dad’s Ram. It has some Magnum in it when I was in high school with an exhaust setup and it was so fun to drive!

    1. Yeah but unfortunately it’s the rarity since selling out and will only get worse & less as he does the bare minimum to fulfill contract

    1. That’s the first thing I thought top, except it was the TD Off Road Wide Open version I played back in the day haha good times

  4. This reminds me of taking random cars into Trans Fender in GTA San Andreas and finding out you can body kit them!

    1. This car was added to GTA online a little while back, so you can take it into LS customs in SA and body kit it 🙂

  5. I love the undercurrent of joy/excitement in Doug’s voice when he reviews one of these weird older cars, compared to how he sounds with the newer stuff.

    1. I’d rather watch a video of something weird and obscure like this than the newest most limited edition $3B Lamboclarenarri.

    2. It wasn’t long ago Doug was saying new cars and boring new SUV’s/supercars- are what his core audience want to view!

What I find incredibly ironic!!!! Is he’s the one that’s *influenced* modern classics! To come on trend.

Technically through his influence he’s unironically changed back his own demographics to viewer’s wanting old cars.

  6. Everything I have ever heard about Carroll Shelby makes him sound like the most hilariously chaotic person ever, something I deeply and profoundly respect. RIP you legend.

    1. Matt Damon played him in “Ford vs. Ferarri”. He played it very well. From what I understood he was a hellraiser in real life

    2. He’s also responsible for the Chili’s restaurant chain. He would take his son-in-law to chili cook-off events, who then would go on to open a restaurant aimed at emulating the feeling of going to those chili cook-offs with his father in law (Carroll Shelby).

    3. He’s definitely one of the all time greats I wish I would’ve been able to meet him at least once

  7. That rear console could have come from any of the Big Three American automakers. Carroll Shelby’s history with Ford is obviously well known. He had the Dodge/Mopar relationship, as this video and the Shelby Daytona demonstrate. And, at this time, he was also building the Shelby Series 1, which was largely composed of GM parts (Olds 4.0 v8, GM switchgear up the wazoo).

I guarantee, Bro was boys with every janitor and security guard in Detroit – anything to get him into any warehouse, storage closet, or parts caddy he might need.

    Total legend. American hero.

    1. @@_dmfd Just an aftermarket brand. They made car bras as well. Seems to have come and gone in the 90’s/00’s. The consoles were for minivans, think early Dodge Caravans, Ventures, Windstars that had front captain chairs, but nothing between the seats.

    2. @@coscorrodrift Wolf is the brand name. They were just an aftermarket company, perhaps more popularly known for the car bras they made. Apparently they were made in the USA, which I’m sure Shelby would have liked. Maybe they were located near the Shelby plant?

  8. The seller of this SUV is jumping for joy. This review will push the final price by an impressive amount

    1. This exact car was sold back in june last year on Cars and Bids for $22,777 and had 300 miles less
Current bid for it is $14k with 6 days left, yesterday was $11.6k
It’s probably getting sold for the same amount than last time at best

    2. Interesting, I had never heard of this car, and I guarantee thatDoug’s review is going to influence this auction. We shall see but I predict at least 33K

  9. Doug the type of guy who will tease you with an outdoor review to only go inside for the actual review.

    1. Yeah, I genuinely miss the outdoor reviews, the indore reviews seem more “cold” and “corporate” but from a comfort stand point I understand why he does it

    2. Probably mostly because of the wind noises outside, and his mic was kinda cheap but it worked haha @@keithhasafastcar

  10. They should of made 360 of these SUV’s. That would have made sense with its name and power output.

  11. I remember many years ago I was at a dodge dealership and the salesman and I hopped in a Durango from this era to go look at another vehicle and he told me never buy a Durango they are junk. At the time I couldn’t believe the salesman told me that. Only honest salesman I’ve come across.

  12. “You gotta remember, this is the old days, the late ’90s”

*digs grave, salutes, jumps in head first*
