  1. The M8 wasn’t a supercar, but a GT meant to compete with Ferrari 456.
Also the “m8” we see driving is a 850i.

    1. @Orcawhale The 6,1 liter V12 on prototype M8 S70/1 and F1 S70/2 and 3,0 liter R6 E36 M3 S50 are very similar engines. S50 R6 is half the S70 V12. They are engineered by the same people in same factory. Cylinder spacing is same on all 3 engines 91mm. All are DOCH with ITB and with VANOS on F1 and M3. F1 has dry sump, others have wet sump. Ofcource they do not share parts with eachother, but main concept is the same. BMW engineers designed a engine for M8, but magagment cancelled the M8 project, only 1 prototype were produced. Then BMW Motosport had engineered a 6,1liter V12 engine, but no car to put it. Maclaren approced them and wanted the engine to be lighter and with lower center of gravity. BMW engineers did that and they put more exotic technology into F1, because engine unit price was not limited like before.

    2. Really??? Maybe you need to look better. M8 is just a prototype what is based on normal e31 chassis and engine was based on m70b50,54,56 and its s70 6.1ccm 550hp. Lets say same engine is used in mclaren f1 and ist s70/2 with 618hp what makes the fastest car of 80’s and 90’s with 386/387km/h.

  2. Callaway still exists and were always based on Corvettes. Even today in 2019, you can buy the latest Z06 and have the Callaway AeroWagen package for a total of around USD$144,000.

  3. The Venturi was always lowkey cool I reckon! It wasn’t going to be the poster car of many but I remember it as a kid and I liked it, can’t knock something for looking like an F40 lol! And I have to say it’s aged really well too!

Omg, so many memories playing with some of these cars in old games… really wish forza could grab licenses for cars like this and add them to their games.

I was expecting to see lister storm and cizetta v16 mentioned, i didn’t see those but i got to remember some old favourites. You should continue to make videos like this, there are plenty of cars that missed this list and this is certainly one of the best eras in the industry. I dislike the looks of most new cars nowadays, they all look too futuristic or complex and yet identical to each other.

This is one of those moments youtube recommended a decent video. I’m sticking around, since i like cars and i see that a good focus of this channel is based in oldies or the unknown/forgotten.

  5. Love the Vectors! I remember a news story about it back in the day the W8 prototype melted grills while testing in LA.

  6. The reason a lot of these look super dated even for a 90’s car is because many of them are actually 80’s cars that didn’t make it to market until the early 90’s due to delays/funding (it’s similar to how the DeLorean is considered stereotypical 80’s despite being a design from the 70’s).

    1. Main reason why so many supercar sales failed in 1990’s is because one factor, these cars were launched in a recession.

  7. I enjoyed this stroll down memory lane! I remember seeing these cars in the Dupont Registry, Car & Driver, Road & Track and Motor Trend as a young enthusiast! Gr8 video!

  8. I practically remember all of these cars from drawing their badges a few years ago and collecting their toy models.

  9. Had Yamaha produced that car and raced it they would have easily had a shot at being the fastest brand 0-400kmh-0 today. The aerodynamics of the car were ahead of its time, and the engine was both incredibly well tuned given the available technology, and very powerful, light, and the RPMs were insane. It was nearly the 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie back in 1994. Yamaha could be the absolute best in motorsports or at the very least pioneered new technology for other companies to imitate or buy directly.

  10. Venturi is a beautiful car and looks like one of the most practical of the bunch. But Iso Grifo is new to me and looks fantastically impressive even by today’s standards.

  11. Venturi looks great. Love the fact that the passenger could simply replace your headlight relay, or maybe your blinker fuse while you are driving along.
Definitely need to look into that Isdera Imperator a bit more.

  12. the venturi 400 has always been one of my favourite cars ever, it looks riced from the factory, not to mention it sounds like a beast!

  13. 8 series and 850csi are a true establishment of BMW, and I love how they took a different path from Audi and Mercedes to make this V8/V12 behemoth of a car. Well done BMW
