  1. Hoovie gets it, love to see it. ICE > EV. Fake charts and graphs might make us feel good, but until EV’s are honest about their (greater) environmental impact, I will stick with the ICE. Also, I like to repair my own things and help them to last longer than me. That’s not an option with EV’s.

  2. I’ve always had a broad interest in cars. Hypers, supers, sports, sport compacts, 4X4’s, etc, etc, etc. I don’t mind EV’s. I don’t see modern cars with plastic intake manifolds and complex electronics and emissions equipment lasting very long before falling apart, so there isn’t much in it between cars today. Modern cars remind me of those old plastic 1 time use cameras they use to sell for weddings and to tourists.

  3. I think that someday evs will be seen as enthusiast cars. I mean, at first, people probably didn’t see the early 90s Honda civics as something more than a grocery getter. Now, we have dedicated groups for every generation. I feel that once the technology reaches the point where the average person can start to tune and modify their ev platform more easily, we will see more enthusiasts take them up. It is unfortunate that there aren’t many ev sports cars out there. Most evs are marketed towards a more casual consumer because that’s what sells, unfortunately.

    1. Well explain to me this, what is exciting about evs how will anybody have a passion for a hollow empty car. I think people that believe this are either to young to have experienced a true car or do not care about cars.

    2. @Alfa E  good question. I believe it depends on the person, but I love my ev for the way it drives and how planted it is due to weight distribution. It’s pretty quick and nimble compared to anything I have ever driven. Feels like a spaceship to me with the instant torque. As a huge scifi nerd, I also enjoy the styling. I’m not gonna lie, I like me a good ice car. For example, I absolutely adore the old 911s and the engine note of the LFA. Miatas are always a good start point for some serious trouble on the track. But as a somewhat poor young person, I don’t have very much experience with other cars. I used to have a 2006 mini Cooper s with the supercharger, and that thing was basically on rails. Sadly, it was totaled out in an accident when I loaned it to my old mate. That is why I ended up getting a Tesla. Just due to timing, I could either get an econobox with a huge dealership markup or a model 3 lr for a flat fee that wasn’t too bad. I assume you have driven one before and know how different it is from a normal car. I just happen to like that difference. Perhaps I can try driving a car you suggest? I’m open for a test drive.

    3. You weren’t around in the ’90s if you think that lol. The 4th and 5th gen civics (all early 90s models) have always been exceedingly popular in the tuner space. The problem with EVs is that their batteries will die. It’s a guarantee. They are nothing but discardable appliances now. That’s why Hoovie said that thing about the 3G iPhone. The cost on a Tesla model 3 to replace it’s battery right now is $13,000. That’s only going to go up with time. You could buy/restore/modify an early 90s civic for less than that.

    4. The problem I see with EV’s is just the older generations. You can’t get parts for em or fix it yourself.

  4. “I love using my old 3G iPhone”
A fellow iPhone 4S advocate here! I have it on iOS 9 but still good.

  5. If they charge faster and the batteries didn’t deteriorate then yes I would own an ev. Till then a hybrid is fine for a daily and some of these supercar hybrids are insane

  6. I can see EVs in the hands of car enthusiasts at some point once some more effort goes into catering them to enthusiasts, because right now there’s really nothing in terms of cheap fun B-road EVs (Think the BRZ of the EV world)

  7. The way Tyler just mutely and vigorously shakes his head in denial for the last three questions!

  8. The i8 WILL be an icon in the near future, U got that WAY WRONG 👀, plus its NOT an EV, it’s a HYBRID.

Low mileage examples in excellent condition WILL BE WORTH 💰💰💰 ESPECIALLY the Roadster as the i8 is BMW’s most beautiful design since the M1

  9. Hoovie says that like the original Roadster isn’t coveted. There will be more enthusiast EVs as they diversify and get hacked.

  10. EVs are inevitable government regulation will see to that. Progress happens and you can either keep up or get left behind.

  11. I used a 3GS until last year when they shutdown the 3G network, It was the first good iPhone and the last that didn’t explode if you dropped it.

  12. I have a sort of ridiculous friend who’s very conservative. He loves to tell the story of his great grandfather forbidding his wife to have the new electricity put in their house. Even though they were very wealthy. He dramatically claimed that he was born by candlelight and he wanted to die by candlelight. They also say that leaving the funeral his wife told everyone she was on her way to have an appointment for the house to be wired for electricity. Not sure there’s a moral to that story but it’s sort of funny and makes me think of the current concerns about electric cars. And the future.
